ITINERARY

Day 1
Perth to Cervantes
Distance : 192Kms Time : 2 Hours 9 Minutes

Morning: Pick up your Perth motorhome hire at our branch, take some time to settle into the motorhome, and stop at the supermarket for groceries before hitting the road on the Indian Ocean Drive, heading towards Cervantes.

Afternoon: Yanchep National Park  is a great first stop where you can enjoy a walk and spot some local wildlife, such as koalas and kangaroos. Continue your drive to Cervantes, a quaint town known for its proximity to the Pinnacles Desert , well-known for its limestone structures that rise from the golden sand.

Evening: Relax at the campsite or take a leisurely stroll along Cervantes’ beach. Enjoy a quiet dinner at the park or a delicious lobster at the Lobster Shack Cervantes

Day 1

Day 2
Cervantes to Kalbarri
Distance : 408 Kms Time : 4 Hours 30 Minutes

Morning: Visit the Pinnacles Desert early to explore its otherworldly landscapes before heading to Kalbarri , known for its seaside cliffs, estuary beach and wild pelicans. Enjoy breakfast at a local café before continuing your journey. Stop on the road for a late lunch at Dongara or Geraldton.

Afternoon: Continue your journey towards Kalbarri, taking in the beautiful scenery on the road. It’s a 4-hour drive from Cervantes, so take a break as often as needed. Don’t forget to stop by Hutt Lagoon Pink Lake! You’ll want to bring a camera along with you to snap a shot of its bubblegum-pink beauty.

Evening: Relax at the campsite or have dinner at a local eatery like The Jetty Seafood Shack for freshly caught seafood.

Day 2

Day 3
Kalbarri National Park
Distance : 123 Kms Time : 1 Hour 34 Minutes

Morning: Enjoy a homemade breakfast in the fully equipped kitchen of your Cruisin’ Motorhome, and then the next stage of your road trip in Perth is a day of exploration at Kalbarri National Park. We recommend the Z Bend River Trail (2.6km, 1 to 3 hours return), named after the tight bends the Murchison River has carved into the Tumblagooda Sandstone gorge. 

Afternoon: After lunch, head to Ross Graham River Walk for a short walk and a rewarding dip into the river. If you are lucky enough to visit during the wildflower season (July to October), you will find a dazzling display of colour from all the different species.  

Evening: Return to your campsite to relax and cook a nice dinner.

Day 3

Day 4
Kalbarri to Shark Bay
Distance : 373 Kms Time : 3 Hours 52 Minutes

Morning: Start your journey towards Shark Bay, enjoying a leisurely drive and keeping an eye out for wildflowers.

Afternoon: Savour a late lunch at Indigo Blues, where you can eat delicious beer-battered fish with chips, pizza, or burgers. Take an afternoon walk to Little Lagoon, a beautiful spot amongst mangroves. Alternatively, visit the Shark Bay World Heritage Discovery Centre. 

Evening: Cook dinner in your Cruisin’ Motorhome, and then admire the sunset over the ocean from the beach.

Day 5
Shark Bay
Distance : 26.7 Kms Time : 20 Minutes

Morning: Do you love dolphins? Who doesn’t! Spend your morning at the Monkey Mia Conservation Park for your chance to feed some wild dolphins a tasty fish snack.  

Afternoon: The Wulyibidi Yaninyina Trail, which means ‘walking Peron’ in the Malgana Aboriginal language, is a relaxed 3km loop that begins near the visitor centre. You’ll find information about the park’s conservation efforts and cultural heritage along the trail. For the best birdwatching experience, visit in the early morning or late afternoon—ideal times to experience the local wildlife before or after your dolphin encounter.

Evening: Come back to your site and enjoy a relaxing night. Play some cards or watch a movie in the comfort of your Cruisin’ Motorhome.

Day 5

Shark Bay to Carnarvon
Distance : 328 Kms Time : 3 Hours 25 Minutes

Morning: Have a coffee and breakfast at Shark Bay Café before heading to Carnarvon. Stop on your way to Shell Beach to check it out.

Afternoon: Arrive in Carnarvon, then see this beautiful town from above by embarking on a scenic flight. Incomparable helicopter flight experience with the most superb views of the Gascoyne River, the Plantations, and more! Alternatively, explore the Carnarvon Space and Technology Museum.

Evening: Enjoy a nice dinner at a local restaurant in South Carnarvon. Classic fish and chips, Thai food, or Australian meals—they have it all!

Carnarvon to Coral Bay
Distance : 237 Kms Time : 2 Hours 30 minutes

Morning: Drive to Coral Bay in the morning, and you will have plenty of time to explore. Stop at the Coral Bay Information Centre to learn more about the town , the marine life, where to snorkel or dive, fishing…

Afternoon: Spend the afternoon snorkelling or relaxing on Coral Bay’s stunning beaches.

Evening: Relax and enjoy the sunset.

Coral Bay and Ningaloo

All day: Embark on an experience like no other! Spend the day looking for Whale Sharks, learn more about this fascinating animal, and even swim with them if you’re confident! The best time to see them is March to June. Alternatively, the Manta Rays are present all year round!

Evening: Return from your day tour, relax and enjoy the sunset.

Day 9
Coral Bay to Exmouth
Distance : 152 Kms Time : 1 Hours 39 Minutes

Morning: After having breakfast at a local café or homemade, drive north to Exmouth. Book a leisurely, relaxing, and eco-friendly one-hour boat cruise along Yardie Creek. The gorge’s diverse wildlife includes the rare black-footed rock wallaby, a variety of bird species and their nesting sites, and an unexpected assortment of marine life.

Afternoon: Visit the Ningaloo Centre and learn more about the local marine environment. Alternatively, relax at the beach.

Evening: Seafood restaurants in this area offer fresh, locally sourced dishes. Check out Whalers, where you can enjoy dinner options such as tiger prawns, goldband snapper, or clams!

Exmouth
Distance : 152 Kms Time : 1 Hours 39 Minutes

All day: If snorkelling or diving is your thing, jump on a day tour. Ningaloo Reef is renowned for its vibrant coral and marine life, including colourful fish, sea turtles, manta rays, and seasonal whale sharks (March to June).

Late afternoon: Drive back to Coral Bay for less driving time the next day. Enjoy a quiet evening at your campsite.

Day 10

Coral Bay to Northampton
Distance : 656 Kms Time : 6 Hours 35 Minutes

All day: Head back towards Perth early and take regular breaks to stretch, eat, and rest for safety. Play your favourite playlist and sing along. If you have multiple drivers, switch every two hours to stay refreshed.

Evening: Have dinner in your Cruisin’ Motorhome or from a local restaurant. Take a digestive walk around the St Mary’s Catholic Church. Then, have an early night to recover from the long drive.
