The 240v mains power will let you use things like the microwave, electric kettle, heating system, and power outlets. We suggest plugging into mains power every 2 days because it’s a reliable way to recharge your house battery, which does most of the hard work in keeping your motorhome functioning at its best when you’re out adventuring. Solar is great! But if you’re experiencing cloudy weather it pays to be cautious.

As mentioned, the house battery (12-volt system) is going to be the hero of your holiday. It powers everything from the lights to the TV and fridge/freezer when you’re not plugged into your campsite’s mains.

The fridge/freezer is a 2-way model, which means it works on the campsite’s mains power or the house battery. The good news is that it will continue to stay cold even when you’re on the road (as long as you remember to charge your motorhome). Make sure you’re giving your fridge plenty of time to chill before you head off to the supermarket for your first shop—we don’t want any spoiled food.

But what about the rest of the kitchen? Don’t worry, we’ve got you sorted! The kitchen space is functional and easy to navigate, though a 3-course meal may be a bit ambitious given the limited bench space. The Cruisin’ 2 Berth Rover is a motorhome designed for simplicity, so with the 2-burner gas stove on offer, one or two pot meals are going to be your best choice.

When you hire a motorhome with Cruisin’, all your day-to-day necessities will be provided. Your cupboards will be fully stocked with cutlery, crockery, a toaster, kettles (both gas and electric), pots and pans, and more. If you’re keen to save money, we recommend bringing along some dry goods, herbs, spices, and storage containers from home. Tupperware is an investment, and we expect it’s not the type of souvenir you’re wanting to bring back home!

The eye-watering costs of quality kitchen goods is a conversation for later; let’s talk mealtime! The rear dinette is a flexible space, with a lightweight table that can be set up and removed as needed. Once you’ve got your food on plates, why not open up the back doors so that you can dine with a fresh breeze and great views!

You won’t have to go far to do the dishes either. The Cruisin’ 2 Berth Rover comes prepared with a sink (including running hot and cold water) that makes cleaning up a breeze. With your own onboard facilities, there’s no need to fight for dominance in the camp kitchen, and you won’t have to scoop out the scraps from the messy barbarians who did their dishes before you.

Once you’re done with dinner, it’s time to get cosy! Easily transform the dinette into a large bed, pop some popcorn in the microwave, and settle in for a movie night thanks to your Smart TV. Alternatively, the TV has an HDMI input, so you’re more than welcome to bring your own device (you can hotspot your phone if the campsite doesn’t have WiFi) and watch your chosen streaming service.

Let’s get technical for a moment. With a fuel consumption of 14 litres per 100 kilometres and an 80 litre fuel capacity, you’ll be able to get a good amount of adventuring done between fuel stops. Remember good driving techniques can make your fuel go further, so do your research if you need a bit of a refresh.

This is an automatic vehicle so you won’t have to worry about gears, but even simple things like avoiding backtracking, mindful acceleration, and using cruise control can help. Every cent you can save is welcome, and there are plenty of apps you can use to find the cheapest fuel stops.
