Cruisin’ Through 25 Years Of History

It’s finally here! This September we’re celebrating 25 Years Of Cruisin’ Motorhomes!

Before we get into it, we just want to say a HUGE thank you to all our wonderful customers, diligent staff, and hardworking partners for their commitment to Cruisin’ Motorhomes. Without all of you, we wouldn’t be here writing this today.

Without further ado, let’s kick off the month by looking back at where we’ve come from. But we won’t linger in the past, because we’re so excited to tell you where we’re going next and all about the epic deals planned for this month!

Why Cruisin’ Motorhomes?

Let’s look all the way back to 1999, before the turn of the century, to an iconic motorhome road trip in America. Here’s a fun fact for you, Cruisin’ Motorhomes was almost Cruisin’ Coffee! The plan for that trip was to investigate the local coffee scene in Seattle, with their eyes set on bringing those beloved Starbucks vibes to Tasmania.

Along the way, our founder, Dennis, discovered a new love of motorhomes. But if there’s one thing we know about America, it’s that they like to go BIG, and those enormous motorhomes just aren’t the best choice for narrow Tasmanian roads. Then Dennis had an epiphany.

“Let’s start small.”

Operating out of their garage in obscure Leslie Vale, Dennis and Tina went all in on nimble campervans, slowly working their way up, expanding the fleet size, until Cruisin’ Tasmania Motorhomes had its first big breakthrough in 2012 with a brand new branch in Brisbane – a name change was in order!

From there the subtly renamed Cruisin’ Motorhomes quickly opened up its doors in Sydney, Cairns, Melbourne, and Perth, with plans for plenty more still to come!

So, What’s Next?

Well, it won’t surprise anyone, but the next destinations for Cruisin’ are looking like Darwin and Adelaide! This will complete the Cruisin’ Aussie loop and allow us to provide additional support to our travellers no matter where they go.

We’ve also got big plans for our head office in Hobart, with a new building incoming for our reservations, roadside assistance, office/branch staff, and manufacturing teams! With so much happening, there’s definitely a lot to look forward to over the next few years.
